ATLANTIC UNION: PROFITS OF €2,830 MIL. AND IMPROVED PRODUCTION RESULTS

During the first half of the year, Atlantic Union had before-tax profits of €2,830 million, an increase of 2.95% compared with the same half of last year (€2,749 million), mainly as a result of the extremely positive return on the underwriting results from production sectors.
According to the company, the increase in production was significant, as gross registered premiums stood at €26,900 million, compared to €23,284 million in the first half of 2007 (an increase of €3,616 million, or 15.53%). The increase in new premiums in the Asset, Life and Health sectors was also remarkable. The company has been focusing on these sectors, aiming to improve their profitability.
In addition, Atlantic Union has increased its share capital from €12 million to €18 million.
