ASPIS VELTISTON: NEW HOSPITALIZATION PLAN COMPLEMENTING PUBLIC HEALTH CARE BENEFITS

The new hospitalization plan of Aspis Pronia Casualty & Property S.A. is called 'Aspis Veltiston.' By utilizing the upgrading of the National Health System as well as the ability to use 'Olympic Beds', Aspis Pronia - a company active in the insurance industry since 1934 - aims to "serve" a large share of the Greek population who cannot afford the cost of private insurance plans that offer full coverage.
This is a combined product that fully utilizes the money policyholders are obliged to pay to Social Security Funds yet at the same time complements the services offered by those Funds by offering all advantages provided by state hospitals along with benefits equal to those of private hospitalization.
It should be noted that 'Aspis Veltiston' is innovative because each year it adjusts the following benefits offered by 8%: a) daily benefit of 50 per hospitalization, b) surgery benefit to cover surgeons' fees and c) maternity allowance of 600.
In addition to this health insurance plan, policyholders receive a maximum treatment capital of 20,000 per hospitalization, which is increased each year by 8%.
At the same time, 'Aspis Veltiston' offers a series of privileges at low cost, including:
* the ability to upgrade the policyholder's hospitalization class;
* coverage of hospitalization expenses beyond social security, as well as expenses incurred at all associated private hospitals;
* physicians' fees for pathological cases;
* exclusive night observation of patients in addition to the one offered by social security;
* annual check-up at associated diagnostic centres;
* Serious illness benefit of 3,000.

Note that in order to obtain this insurance plan and its benefits, policyholders should have an attested health booklet.
